The Assyrian Levies/ANZACS memorial and the Assyrian Genocide monument have both been restored this week after they came under attack by vandals last weekend.

The Assyrian Genocide Monument which was unveiled only weeks ago has been badly vandalised. Its the second Assyrian memorial to be vandalised in the space of 48 hours. The Assyrian Levies/ANZACS memorial in Fairfield was also attacked on the weekend.

The Assyrian Eagle Scouts along with Reverend John Kushaba, Deacon Ninos Elya and Scoutmaster Gaby Kiwarkis delivered dozens of teddy bears to the Westmead Children’s Hospital In Sydney on Friday 27th August.

UPDATE

Police have today started investigations into the defacing of the Assyrian Levies/ANZACS memorial in Fairfield Sydney. The memorial also mentions the Assyrian Genocide.

Its believed vandals struck Friday afternoon coinciding with the delivering of bears to the Children’s Hospital by the Assyrian Eagle Scouts, Gaby Kiwarkis and Rev John Kushaba.

It’s not yet known who is behind the heinous crime. Anyone who witnessed or holds information on the incident is urged to contact Fairfield Police on 9728 0399?.

A t-shirt being sold at local and nationwide BIG-W stores is under criticism for depicting a dog crucified on a cross.  It was spotted by shoppers At Fairfield and Wetherill Park in Sydney's West.

The Assyrian Church of the East has ordained its second priest this year. The priest formerly known as deacon Ramsen Youkhanis was ordained as Reverend Narsai Youkhanis on Sunday 22nd of August at the St Hurmizd Cathedral in Sydney.
