The Assyrian Levies/ANZACS memorial and the Assyrian Genocide monument have both been restored this week after they came under attack by vandals last weekend.

The Assyrian Genocide Monument which was unveiled only weeks ago has been badly vandalised. Its the second Assyrian memorial to be vandalised in the space of 48 hours. The Assyrian Levies/ANZACS memorial in Fairfield was also attacked on the weekend.

Close to 2000 people packed Bonnyrigg Park yesterday morning for the unveiling of the long awaited Assyrian genocide monument in Sydney. The monument built by the Assyrian Universal Alliance is in commemoration of the victims of the Assyrian genocide, the Simele massacres and the ongoing Assyrian persecution in Iraq. The unveiling also coincided with Assyrian Martyr’s Day.

Australians reportedly killed in North Iraq fire PDF Print E-mail

A major fire has ripped through a Northern Iraq hotel last night killing 30 people and injuring dozens more.

The Kurdish authorities have reported that a number of Australians have been killed. Its not yet known whether the killed were Assyrian Australians.

-          Ghana match tonight must be won for Australia to advance through the group and into the knockout stages.

Australia’s Socceroos have so far disappointed fans in Australia, South Africa and all over the world, with the big loss against Germany. While it was a big loss, a loss was expected against the powerhouse, but many mistakes were also made on Verbeeks side which saw reports in the media that the coach and players have had fallout, and that things had heated up in the Socceroos camp.
