The United Kingdom authorities have approved an Assyrian memorial to be erected at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire England.

The Arboretum is a national site of remembrance that serves all arms of Army, Navy, Air Force and allied forces. The Memorial site is a sacred area in which members of the public, royal family and today’s military pay their respects all year. The site also attracts more than 300,000 visitors with over 200 special events held each year.

The approval comes 6 weeks after Mr Gaby Kiwarkis, President of the Assyrian Levies Association made a trip to England to meet with high ranking military officials.

The Ancient Assyrian themed memorial will commemorate WW1 combatants and civilian causalities, and WW2 Assyrian RAF Levies.

Mr Gaby Kiwarkis said,” This memorial will be officially dedicated by the ‘worldwide Assyrian community’, and not by any individual organisation, because everyone deserves to be recognised for their efforts towards this monument regardless of how large or small”.

Mr Kiwarkis also stated, “we like to invite artists and architects to volunteer their time to submit other designs or similar with changes for consideration”.

All interested should contact Mr Gaby Kiwarkis on 0410-086-479, email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Good Work Gabi... but:

a) They were not "civilian casualties" of war. They were VICTIMS OF GENOCIDE! Stop giving the Turks more leeway to deny what happened to us by using war as an excuse. I know you're a military man... but please step out of the box.

b)The proposal is quite tacky. I hope you find something more tasteful and less gaudy to inspire reverence in the visitors to the monument, rather than turning it into a tourist attraction because it is such an eyesore!

Civilian casualties of war? Where anywhere in my work have I ever said that? Please go and read the plaque in Fairfield.
The proposal as I said is only an idea, and I am not an artists, but I find your ways to be very head strong and unproductive, it is the old ways that need to get out of the box, they are simply NOT working, please send your design for consideration.

"The Ancient Assyrian themed memorial will commemorate WW1 combatants and civilian causalities, and WW2 Assyrian RAF Levies."
Quoting the article above. I cannot stand Genocide victims being labelled civilian casualties because this is just not factual.
