Israeli protesters slam Turkey on genocide PDF Print E-mail

Many took to the streets of Tel Aviv today protesting in support of Israel and its actions regarding the Flotilla raids.

Israeli Protestors have marched at the Turkish embassy holding banners reminding turkey of the genocides committed against Armenian, Assyrian and Greek Christians in 1915.

Many have this week speculated that Israel will use the genocide issue against turkey in a bid to fight Turkish propaganda following the Flotilla incident.

The Huliq News Agency stated, “Today a prominent Journalist from CNN Turk Mehmet Ali Birand spoke of Israel possibly using the Armenian Genocide as a possible retaliation against Turkey. Birand said Turkey should be ready to fight an increasing number of countries recognizing the Armenian genocide. According to him Israel will recognize the genocide and will lobby for the US to recognize the events as genocide. Birand said it will be helpful if Turkey prepares for that from this very moment.”

The Israeli National News Agency also published parts from an open letter to turkey from a well known doctor, Dr Arash Irandoost. He was quoted as saying "And when a country that persecutes its Kurdish, Assyrian and Armenian citizens, treat Iranian refugees like 3rd class citizens and hands them over to IRI thugs at every opportunity, and works tirelessly to appease a criminal regime, she must remember that we will not forget her erroneous ways."

Please open a history book before writing a comment.

ASSYRIANS DID NOT SYSTEMATICALLY KILL ANYONE! Our Ancestors did not use Systematic Extermination on anyone including Babylonians, Jews, Arabs, etc.

We used imperialism, deportation, and assimilation.

Pleae read a history book for once before making ignorant comments.

Saddam killed Zowaa because Saddam hated Assyrians. NOT because they were working with Kurds!!!!!

Saddam killed innocent Assyrians and Zowwa for no reason. Saddam was a Sunni Muslim. He hated Assyrians and he always did

I don't like that our cause is being used as yet another stone for the Israelis to hurl at their enemies. I'm sick of our people being used by other nations for their own selfish causes. We should petition that while we are thankful for the recognition of crimes against our nation we refuse our issues being used as ammunition to distract from matters at hand. And 2000 years ago we did not kill them. We deported the 10 tribes and they assimilated into those settlements. That is a huge difference. From my understanding of history our empire valued life as an enriching commodity and resource; preferring a system of civil systematic deportation and settlement over systematic extermination. Can the Israelis say the same of their treatment of Canaanites or modern day Palestinian civilians?

I will do that. I apologize for that.

I was just respectfully replying to Mr. Martin's comment.

I was just stating the fact the Arab World that is sitting in "Palestine" has no historical nor archaeological justification for their existence in Jerusalem or Israel.

The Arabs have illegally stolen the Mid-East of the indigenous people. We all know that historically ancestral Arabs are desert dwellers that originate from Arabia. Or what is currently known as UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc.

When ancestral Israel Jews were living in Samaria,Israel, the Mesopotamians (Arameans, Babylonians, Assyrians) were dominating the Fertile Crescent while Arabs/Bedouins/etc. were in Arabia and there was no existence of Mohammed at the time.

We all know Mohammed came after Jesus' existence.

That is all.

If any of you had a brain, you would know that Israel was selling weapons to Zowaa and Kurds in 1990 to fight off Saddam Hussein.

The Israeli government confirmed that.

But since you never think before you write, I do not blame any of you.

Israel is saying that the Assyrians were killed by Turks. How many countries have mentioned our name before like that???!?!?!

VERY FEW!

Truth... I dont know if you are a man or a woman, sorry. but believe me it was 99% in the interest of israel when gave weapon to north of iraq, among them zowaa (as you mentioned, I dont know if its right or no, sorry coz I never heard about it!), and only 1% in the interest of others who took the weapons. you know why? simply, because saddam hussein was the biggest thret to israel. and if now, they are saying turkish killed Assyrians, be sure they want to use this issue for their interest. And, if the israel say turkish killed Assyrians or not, indeed, turkish did, this is a definit matter and no one can deny it, even he doesnt recognise it!!!

Viva Israel.

Don't let Islamic propaganda mislead you. They spread only lies and hatred against Israel. Israel is in a difficult position.
Israel is seen as a thorn in the flesh by muslim states. They can't stand it that there is a state in Middle East which is not ruled by a Muslim nation.

Muslim states and Islam will always be against other states that are not ruled by Muslims and Islam. This is the reason why there is so much propaganda against Israel and why they wish the demise of Israel as a state.

don't you wounder why palestinian arabs get so much publicity and help from all over the world. because they are muslims and because anti-jews see a chance to attack israel and the jews.

Hi. I am an Israeli and I went to that anti-Turkish rally that is pictured above.

I will say sorry on behalf of the Israelis that are conveniently politicizing your genocide for selfish means, but it doesn't mean that we don't feel bad or identify with your plight. We just feel very betrayed by Turkey, especially in light of their own human rights violations.

I think the problem is that most Israelis don't even know that you guys exist. It's a shame. We are the closest cousins in the world (our languages are very very similar, much more than either are to Arabic) and our cultures and civilizations are much more ancient. However, my country's new dislike for Turkey may lead many to do research and find out about you guys, so maybe our related groups can become friends.

I also want to say that Jews tend to forgive for past transgressions, so don't worry about what you did 2,000 years ago. We are strong allies even with Germany today. I'm sure if you had a country, Israel would be almost as happy about it as yourselves.

Thank you Eli. As an Assyrian, I have always supported Israel and always will.

2,000 years ago, our Assyrian ancestors used imperialism, assimilation, and deportation, on all ethnic groups in the Mid-East (Fertile Crescent). Assyrians did not commit genocide on anyone. Assyrian never used systematic extermination. We only conquered. We did not exterminate or commit genocide.

The Assyrians in Israel are called Samaritans. They were resettled in ancient Samaria when Assyrians came to Israel. Hence, the "ten lost tribes of Israel." Samaritans are basically Assyrian Jews. A University in Israel confirmed that Samaritans of today both have Assyrian blood and Jewish blood.

I am very thankful for Israel who continues to stop and destroy Islamic terror. Many Christians and Jews have been a victim of terrorism in the Middle-East including Iraq.

Listen, ignorant prick. You are obviously a Ba'ath member and an Arab Lover.

In your last post, you just said you would kill Assyrians who fought against Saddam Hussein. ALL ZOWWAA FOUGHT AGAINST SADDAM! THANK GOD! LONG LIVE ZOWAA!

Saddam Hussein is a piece of trash. His legacy and the Ba'ath party is in the garbage.

You clearly hate Assyrians and you hate Zowwa.

So do yourself a favor and go to Iraq and go join the Ba'ath party.

And don't ever tell us that you voted for Zowaa. You are a traitor, a liar and Saddam's long lost lover.

Saddam couldn't even fight like a man. Saddam was a woman. He was hiding in a rat hole hiding from American soldiers for so many months.

What a loser.

Quoting truth:
Saddam couldn't even fight like a man. Saddam was a woman. He was hiding in a rat hole hiding from American soldiers for so many months.

I suppose you would have fought bravely had you been in his position? Or you would have been resolved the situation in a more "peaceful" and "intelligent" manor? You can shit talk him as much as you want, but having the balls to stand up to america makes him a man by itself.

What country do you live in?

Did you just say Saddam has the balls to stand up to America?

Saddam Hussein stood up to America because he has the intelligence of a donkey. He ran away like a girl in a rat hole and his military all surrendered to America like a bunch of women.

Saddam Hussein was a coward. Nobody will remember him for anything but being a evil criminal who killed innocent Assyrians and others.

His legacy is in the trash.

Saddam stood by his beliefs until death, something you clearly don't seem to get.
If dieing for what you believe in means you have the intelligence of a donkey, then many of the worlds greatest people are as intelligent as donkeys.

You talk about intelligence and then say Saddam was a coward for hiding from a war he could not win? So by your logic, making reckless decisions and fighting senselessly until you die is a more intelligent thing to do as opposed to hiding and trying to recruit other to help your cause?

What country do you live in? Please go and ask someone with an understanding of war what it means to be a "man" during war.

Also, just to show how uncivil you are, you keep making reference to women like they are inferior to men and less brave. What century are you stuck in? Please leave the house and see the real world.

He stood for his beliefs? You mean slaughtering innocent women and children like sheep and killing Assyrian men?

Saddam is rotting in hell.

Wow, I did not know how many nasty and trashy Ba'ath agents there are on this website. This is truly disgusting.

You have no argument what so ever. Please learn to spell and go back to school. You have no integrity, no education, and apparently no morals.

If he could not win the war, then why did he pretend to be brave? lol. What a total joke. Go to Iraq and go support the trashy Ba'ath party.

BYE!

Wow, thanks Israel. If only you could have shown such concern for the Assyrians 100 years ago, when you were petitioning Britain for your own country. For so many years you said nothing about the Holocaust we suffered and your intellectuals in America even pushed to have only the Jewish Holocaust recognised as a 'holocaust'. At the same time, your American Jewry pushed aggressively for the USA to support Turkey and its hateful bid to enter the EU (again, for selfish purposes, as then Israel would also be justified a place in the EU on religious diversity grounds). And meanwhile, your Jewish Assyriologists would write literature about the ancient 'cruel' nation of Assyria and its 'crimes' to inspire apathy and hatred in lay Jewish minds. And now you suddenly seem to care about the Assyrians? We are not fooled by you. This latest declaration is the cheapest shot yet and only Israel could stoop so low as to only mention our genocide when it suits YOU...

...Shame on you! If only our killers had been the Germans and yours had been the Turks! You don't know of what you speak, and you speak so much. One day you will find out that we Assyrians are your Israelite brothers who weren't taken in by the liar Pharisees and their murderous ambitions but were actually the first, and only peaceful missionaries until recent times. What will you do then? When you suddenly realise that these 'lost' brothers you have been so desperate to locate are the very people you have failed to protect, support and gather? If you had any truth in you, you would feel the true relationship in your heart, instead of trying to push a pointless religious agenda of conversion. I hope all the African and Indian tribes you are relocating in your country for the purposes of your army under the guise of Aaliyah can maybe teach you a thing or two about decency and truth. There will be no peace for you until you stand up like real men and demand Assyria's creation.
